Motivation Behind the Constitution

The Constitution of the Republic of Western Canada was born out of a desire to ensure true freedom, accountability, and self-determination for the people of Western Canada. Many in the region, particularly in Alberta, feel that the existing structure under Canadian Confederation has failed to respect their unique values, resources, and potential. This Constitution reflects the belief that the West has the resources, cultural identity, and resilience to thrive as an independent constitutional republic.

Drawing inspiration from the U.S. Constitution, this framework emphasizes the lessons of history while addressing modern challenges. It prioritizes individual rights, economic stability, government accountability, and the protection of personal freedoms. Unlike the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, this Constitution goes further to enshrine protections against government overreach, ensuring that fundamental rights cannot be eroded by temporary political whims.

Our Goal

The primary goal of this website is to provide a platform for leaders of the western sovereignty movement to hold healthy discussion and debate over a constitutional republic.

This first draft of this constitution simply serves as a starting point and foundation for sovereignty groups and advocates of the region to engage with the vision of a constitutional republic.

In the immediate future the short term goal is to see if this web application can serve a useful purpose for the various groups and advocates of western sovereignty to propose, debate, and vote on a constitution.

This is a proof of concept stage for this web application. If the community feels it’s not serving its purpose effectively, then it will be taken down.

This is about giving Western Canadians a starting point to voice their ideas and shape the foundation of a potential new republic.

We expect to make the constitution public after it has been agreed upon by the community.
